With each new offering developing director Samuel Ross’ vision further the A-COLD-WALL*‘s industrial leanings are constantly expounded upon in its seasonal clothing collections. Fall/Winter 2020 stripped back much of the rugged brutalism that informed the brand’s earlier offerings, replaced by slick suiting. The readymade appeal reminds of the A-COLD-WALL*’s collaborative Converse sneakers.
The Converse shoes must have gone back to the drawing board, as A-COLD-WALL*’s FW20 presentation included a host of new in-house silhouettes in place of collaborative kicks was first seen on the Spring/Summer 2020 runway. They included paneled low-tops, a new Shard Lo and the Corbusier Hi. These are the brand’s first designs for Converse. An ERX260 and Chuck Taylor have been given a thematic revision, with the former sporting suede and smooth leather in shades of understated grey. It also boasts revised lacing, embossed branding on the heel and an ankle strap — not unlike the collaborative Air Force 1.
Elevated with ripstop uppers and futuristic translucent eyestays. Rubber ACW*-branded paneling on the side of the lugged sole unit, underscoring the sneaker’s boot-like look. Tonal branding and “PRESENTED BY SAMUEL ROSS” text on the heel completes the technical trainer.
Grab a pair of A-COLD-WALL*’s two collaborative Converse sneakers when they launch on Shop Nice Kicks’ site September 1.
