Back in September, Lakme fashion week and NBA declared their collaboration in celebration of NBA’s 75th anniversary. And to participate in this friendly competition and to exhibit ADK’s passion for basketball the brand has come up came up with the capsule collection inspired by it.
As a tribute to the players and their teams, the collection ranges from co-ord sets to oversized jacket-track sets. Every feature has been carefully designed and incorporated within the collection. ADK offer us with four looks within this capsule collection in tribute to Jordan, Kobe and their respective teams. The collection includes references of the team logos, color schemes and jersey numbers in ADKs’ unique aesthetic for streetwear. It contains intricate crystals in the brands unique designs to uplift the collection in reference to the championship rings which are distributed as a memento to the players and team officials to keep for themselves as a symbol of victory. The brand’s unique design aesthetic of juxtaposing garments with the craftsmen ship of crystals by Swarovski adds the luxurious touch.
Inspired by Jordan’s 90’s oversized jackets and his iconic jersey number 23, the varsity Jacket represents Chicago Bulls. The jacket includes a juxtapose dialogue by bringing different materials such as wind breaker and jersey together. The jacket has the symbolic Bull juxtaposed to represent the team with Swarovski crystals which brings a luxurious touch to the design. The sleeves contain chain stitch detailing representing the court lines and a silver beaded detailing which is similar to the basketball net and finished the rib detailing.
For the women’s co-ord set, the color scheme remains unchanged with an asymmetrical look inspired by Jordan’s own unconventional streetstyle. The silhouette for this fit is made with a combination of game jerseys to enhance the aesthetic while the Swarovski crystals convey champion pride.
