Nike has officially announced the release of the retro Air Jordan 5 “Alternate Grape” colorway and revealed its first look on their official website. The release of this colorway had been postponed earlier due to the corona virus pandemic. This vibrant colorway is inspired by the original Air Jordan 5 “Grape” colorway that debuted in 1990. This colorway became a classic when Will Smith wore a pair of AJ 5″Grape” in “The fresh Prince of Bel Air”. The upper of the shoe is covered with purple colored suede panels with its signature netting on the mid foot along with the black eyestays, collar trim, insole, tongue and shoelaces. The jumpman logo appears on the tongue in a bright blue color and black color on the heel tab. The black midsole has a fanged, speckled teal detailing towards the forefoot and a transparent Air Max cushioning unit at the back. Finally it features an icy blue colored outsole to finish the contrasting look. It will be launched on 7th July 2020 at a retail price of $190.
