Co-created a handful of heritage and futuristic products throughout 2020, atmos and Adidas were seen leaning towards the bold. The ZX 1180 boost were their latest collaboration which forgoes the wild zebra and tiger stripes of a previous release in favor of a deceivingly tame iridescent arrangement.
A plethora of overlays across its mixed-materials upper the silhouette is rooting the game-changing legacy of the ZX series from the ’80s. The sneaker’s non-molded heel panels feature reflective finishes, with multi-colored swaths and laces illuminating the brightest. The silhouette forgoes any Torsion bar, instead revealing Boost cushioning through the light tread. Zones at the forefoot and rear interrupt the sole unit’s predominant black and white scheme with an infrared-like hue, midsoles indulge in a semi-translucent arrangement; lateral heels are branded with the sneaker’s name and midsole’s materials complete the look.
Atmos’ ZX 1180 Boost is likely to hit adidas.com by the holiday season though full release data is still unknown.
