COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT and ASICS initially revealed their TARTHER collaboration as a part of the former brand’s Spring/Summer 2021 lineup, following which both the sneakers have arrived in the retail market. A well known silhouette amongst the Japanese crowd, the TARTHER is an enhanced model of the ASICS’ Tiger Runner from 1983 with the CdG SHIRT getting an added bit of flair.
Featuring a slim build with an aggressive front, each TARTHER is focused on its vividly toned quarters and heels, arriving in either purple or blue. A touch of luxury is added via the metallic gold speckles on the base. The left outs remain untouched to give the shoe a retro running sneaker vibe. Meshing arrives in tones of white while the suede is kept black with additional cutout detailing alongside a special Tiger stripe on the quarter.
Tongues feature Gold colored co-branded hits with a TARTHER spell out on the lateral heel in the former shade. Midsoles are constructed with the EVA foam technology covered by a sporty outsole and a neon yellow forefoot and a silver-speckled midfoot bridge.
