Concepts, a Boston based boutique, brought to life in Cambridge in 1996 has certainly come a long way in the past years. The store came into the limelight after they released the SB dunk Lobsters in 2008 with the Concept’s special humor and the wild packaging. As per Deon Point Concepts Creative Director the company has never been to serious and always do as they please. Sense of humor is a sure attribute at
Concepts.
The concept behind the shoe revolves around food, football and friendships. The turducken is a Louisiana staple made popular by football commentators. Laser cut detailing on the quarter panel and the mid of the shoe being replaced with feathery material gives it an accustomed look. The print of the sock liner and the collar liner is a custom. The Nike swoosh in metallic blue and metallic green on either side is a beauty to be observed just like the mallard. The shoe ‘s beauty comes to life the most when
paired with the chicken foot sock stuffed in the shoe. Tongue tags switched to “DUCK High Pro” give us a glimpse of the Concepts humorous side. The shoe will be wrapped in turkey themed paper in an oven inspired box finished with holiday leftovers (inclusive of family dinner themed turkey leg Nerf Vortex football). Other theme related apparel such as the flannel jacket, T-shirt and beanie are Concepts exclusives.
The delicious dunk is set to launch on November 14 at the Concepts Boston and New York flagship stores and also on cncpts.com. It will also be available at select skate retailers on November 20 and the
next day on SNKRS.
