First Look at Salehe Bembury’s New Balance 2002R “Water Be The Guide” Colorway
Salehe Bembury has had a compelling and successful 2020 as he was able to bag multiple footwear partnerships and was also awarded FN Designer of the Year. One of his most endearing projects which received lot of appreciation from the sneaker heads was the last year’s New Balance 2002R “Peace Be The Journey” collaboration, and now the two parties decided to extend the line with a second iteration that has finally been revealed via the designer’s IG handle: the New Balance 2002R “Water Be The Guide”.
As we understand from the name , the design is inspired by elements of the ocean. The aquatic teals that paints the shaggy suede and leather overlays as well as the laces and interior lining , reminds one of the tropical waters. Mesh underlays are presented in dusted coral hue, while the rustic orange accents make their way to the tongue’s backgrounds and branded overlays atop the lower throat and lateral heels. The “N” logos that are engraved on the mid-foot color-block the forest green and neon green outlines. Midsoles are mostly white in complexion but come with orange speckles throughout. Bringing everything together is the treading which also comes outfitted in a bright teal tone.
No information regarding the release has been made , but its anticipated to drop via New Balance and select retailers in the coming months.
