2020 was a big year for the Air Max 90, the year marked the 30th anniversary of the silhouette. The silhouette was released multiple times in new vibrant colorways while there attempts for it to be in-line with the original as well. We saw the trio of Atmos-inspired Duck camo drop and a bunch of OG re-releases. Adding to the list is the reincarnation of Dave Ortiz’s DQM x Nike Air Max 90 “Bacon”.
Dave’s Quality Meat was very popular in the New York sneaker scene at the time. The Butcher theme, meathook apparel and a lot more made it what it was and had Nike’s attention. Nike then decided to link up with the retailer for a special-edition Air Max 90 revolving around meat. Be it fatty beige, tender red and pink or well brown all of it was used on the shoe. Use of premium leather and suede was a no brainer and took only a day to put together.
Originally set to come out in March 2020, PYLeaks has stated that the pair will come out during the annual celebration in 2021.
