As per the reports, rumors are flying around that Gucci will soon be disclosing a collaboration with Balenciaga. The rumors go on to note that the potential meeting of Kering group’s Creative Directors Alessandro Michele and Demna Gvasalia is speculated to take place at the Italian fashion house’s upcoming “Aria” collection presentation. Rumors about a potential collaboration came into the picture after Gucci’s unexpected team-up with The North Face earlier this year.
The unveiling of the “Aria” collection due on the 15th of April is considered to be a major milestone for Gucci as 2021 marks the luxury brand’s 100th year anniversary. The presentation will be inclusive of a series of short films that will be released digitally through a variety of global platforms. It is of utmost importance to take into consideration that “Aria” is in sync with Gucci’s new brand strategy, being displayed outside a fashion week and in music, an aria is used to narrate a self-contained piece for one voice.
