Jaden Smith’s New Balance Vision Racer Emerges in Heritage-Themed Gray Colorway
Three adjectives to rightly describe Jaden Smith and New Balance‘s Vision Racer have to be, “vibrant,” “bold” and “playful.” Ever Since its introduction in July 2020, the Vision Racer has mostly weighted towards the whimsical side of the spectrum with vivid colors and bold material choices. Nevertheless, it’s overturning the script on its latest release by looking to New Balance’s heritage with a signature gray colorway.
Uppers blend gray and silver mesh, leather and suede pieces for classic New Balance style, and the “Vision Racer” tape that passes across the upper keeps things tonal to not diminish from the crisp look. Branding is carried by New Balance hits the tongue, quarter and heel equally. Down below, the Vision Racer’s signature beefy midsoles are done up in plain white foam — and icy blue outsoles with printed graphics ensure that some of Smith’s signature flair remains. The shoe’s construction is sustainable as well and it highlights everything from reconditioned polyester pieces to reground EVA foam and insoles made partially of castor bean oil.
The Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer in gray is scheduled to release via retailers like Nice Kicks on June 18, and is priced at $150 USD.
