Montreal’s JJJJound has just revealed a first look at the new collaboration with New Balance’s 992 model, confirming a return to the old dingy grey shade that became so popular, first seen on 2018’s 990 v3 collaboration. Aside from its signature shade, the underlays and heel tabs are a bit darker, with black in the N logo, and the interior lining of the pair. Somehow JJJJound has reinterpreted the basic grey New Balance sneakers, with very subtle touches, which is a testament to the phrase “less is more”. We’ve seen a similar effect on the Kith 992, and WTAPS New Balance 992. A release date has not yet been confirmed.
