Post-summer in 2002, Kobe paid a whopping $8 Million dollars to pull out of his Adidas contract making it one of the biggest sneaker free agencies in the history of the NBA. The stipulations stated that Kobe couldn’t sign with any other brand till 2003 giving him freedom of choice for any sneaker as per his choice. With brands willing to kill for getting their sneakers on Kobe’s feet, a Reebok sneaker from that particular season resurfaced again.
The Holy Grails of their time Reebok Question ”Yellow Toe” PE which were teased last year and were planned to release this year but have been scrapped due to the shocking and unexpected death of Kobe Bryant. @briansnadav recently shared pictures of how to the pair would look if Kobe would have received it back in the day. Although footwear designer Frank Cooke gave the Kobe fans hope that the pair is about to make its presence in the retail market.
The upcoming Fall, Reebok is set to release an “Alternates” Pack of which the “Yellow Toe” will be a part of and will represent the Lakers’ Sunday whites. The pack also contains other sneakers such as the Another Question representing the Philadelphia 76ers uniform change and also the Kamikaze II representing the late 90-s Sonics alternate red uniforms. Lakers guard Quinn Cook debuted the pair ahead of the 4th game of the Western Conference Finals.
