Collaborations have shaped the sneaker market in a positive way and in 2-2020 we have seen a lot of strange and shocking alliances between the brands and famous personalities. And while rappers like Travis Scott and designers like Virgil Abloh have been leading the charge to claim to the past years’ most hyped sneaker collaborations, kicks such as this LEGO x Adidas ZX8000 are predominantly more recognizable purely for how “out there” the alliance itself appears.
The LEGO blocks do showcase themselves on the sneaker itself as they highlight both the heel counter and eye stays with the classic studs and all. The use of blue and red also appears to be a reference in and of itself, both pair amazing with the equally bold green and yellow for the most OG and nostalgic set. Everywhere else, Adidas gives us their expertise through the ribbed white mesh and grey suede panels, a built-up that lies neutral in contrast to the aforementioned and the bold “LEGO” branding that is seen on the tongue.
Take a good look at these sneakers here and wait for a release to hit adidas.com on September 25th for a retail of $130 USD.
