As we have seen through 2020, ASICS has been busy with the GEL-Lyte III‘s 30th anniversary, but the Japanese label has now found some time to cater to its other sneakers in influential ensembles. The last example was showcased in the form of a GEL-Kayano 5 OG dressed up in “Smoke Grey” and dressed in yellow and muted blue highlights.
Resembling it’s 1999-version, the silhouette is built up with a mix of materials, from lightweight, ventilated mesh to exclusive suede overlays. The latter indulges in a sand-evocative hue that showcases stark summer-appropriate alteration throughout its profile vector motifs. Elsewhere, the lemon and teal-like accentuation build up the tongue, heel, and part of the white GEL™ and DUOMAX cushioned-sole unit. Black speckling at the medial heel sums up the latest take on the retro-runner.
