Jordan brand celebrates the Chinese new year each year with a dedicated colorway of one of their own shoes. This year being no different, the brand has opted to go for the Air Jordan 1 Low silhouette to honor the occasion. The holiday-themed modification will be featuring the classic “Bred” color scheme accessorized to the core.
Swapping the usually-used smooth leather for a full canvas on the uppers changes the overall quality and build of the shoe. Following the Bred color blocking, certain portions of the shoe such as the toe box, swooshes and heel overlays arrive in the beautiful and vibrant tone of “University Red” whilst the quarter panels, liners and toe tips arrive in the contrasting jet black.
The Air Jordan wings insignia embroidery on the heel and the noticeable floral embroidery on the toe boxes, swooshes and heel overlays are concluded in an ornate manner. The upcoming year is marked as the Year of the Ox highlighting which the adjacents are decorated with multi-colored cattle imagery all the way towards the midfoot. Moving on with the decorations, the collars are accented with lotus root tassels dyed with red rope and golden ends. Concluding the masterpiece is a classic white midsole with a red treaded outsole.
With no information as of yet whether they will be arriving on Nike SNKRS, the expected release date is said to be around February 2021 with a price tag of $130 USD.
