Supreme is stepping into this season’s collaboration with the New York Yankees. Joining hands, the range carries significant importance considering the mutual location roots and celebrates one of the most renowned major league baseball teams in the world.
The interlocking “NY” logo was inspired by a medal of honor created by Louis Tiffany of Tiffany & Co. in 1877 and presented to John McDowell, a New York City police officer shot in the line of duty. First used in 1909, the logo appeared on the sleeve and cap of the uniform. The NYU logo has been utilized to its max in the collection and the collaboration is said to be the best pair after this. The collection is comprised of a GORE-TEX 700-Fill Down Jacket, Track Jacket, Denim Trucker Jacket, Shortsleeve Top, Hooded Sweatshirt, Track Pant, Jean, Sweatpant, New Era® Fitted Hat, New Era® Beanie and Skateboard. Items reference both sports styling and street essentials all accented by the interlocking “NY” logo expressed through embroidery, appliques, and printed graphics.
The New York Yankees x Supreme Fall 2021 will see a global release, available via the streetwear imprint’s website on September 2, 11 a.m. EDT in the United States and September 4, 11 a.m. JST in Japan.
