November is getting closer, and that means Nike and Jordan Brand are gearing up to celebrate Halloween and Día De Muertos. In celebration of Día De Muertos, the two imprints have announced their forthcoming Día De Muertos footwear and apparel collection. This year’s assemblage features whimsical colorways of the Air Force 1 Low and Air Jordan 1 Mid as well as matching apparel. The clothing is inspired by the concept of Siempre Familia, which represents the unbreakable bond between families.
This collection introduces us to the elements of Mictlán, a journey of nine levels that celebrates the infinite power of family connection with loved ones. The Air Force 1 Low is packed with astonishing details such as the bright orange overlays, accessorized with debossed patterns, insoles treated with luxe purple velvet material, and Swooshes that are intricately embroidered. The Air Jordan 1 Mids come with Swoosh logos shaped to mimic an arrow, inspired with jaguar prints and tongues that bear Siempre Familia branding.
A two-toned bomber jacket featuring Mictlán illustrations on the front alongside graphic tees featuring skulls, bones, the Xolo dog, and jaguars and iguanas that are relevant to the holiday are created by the Swoosh team.
The 2021 Día de Muertos collection is dropping on October 24 via SNKRS in Mexico, October 26 on the Nike App in Mexico and globally on October 29.
