Nike’s Air Flight ’89 returns for 2022 after last being seen in June of 2020 in a SuperSonics-inspired hue. Originally a Nike Basketball performance silhouette, the Air Flight ’89 has a distinct throwback aesthetic, notably with its sole unit derived from the legendary Air Jordan 4. Nike has updated the Air Flight ’89 with a “White/Black” colorway accentuated with red, pink, and grey impacts.
The Air Flight ’89 in this colorway has a white leather foundation on the upper, matching the laces and trim, and black accents on the Swooshes, the tongue branding, a portion of the sole unit, and other elements. A part of the rubber outsole is red, matching the tongue and heel marking, and starts at the forefoot of the midsole and wraps to the midfoot.
The Nike Air Flight ’89 in this black and white colorway is anticipated to be on sale for $120 USD from Nike and a few select retailers in the upcoming months. Check out the pair in the official image above, and keep a watch out for further hues to release before the end of 2022.
