After a plethora of drops featuring black apparel, Drake and Nike’s ambiguous NOCTA line is serving something slightly different in its upcoming “Cardinal Stock” collection. Cardinal birds are red, so its unsettled why this line-up is a color palette of white, grey, black, and blue garments. Maybe it is a reference to the versatile layering pieces which form the building blocks of a casual wardrobe.
Japanese retailer Atmos gave a background to the brand’s name saying its “a nod to the artist’s nocturnal creative process.” One thing for sure is that people aren’t buying NOCTA for the brand name alone but also seeing that it’s slick sportswear with a Drake endorse. Naturally, it is an automatic sell out.
Featuring low-key staples elevated by 3M details and brand’s yet to be explained logo motifs (“C.L.” and “A.W.R”) this NOCTA release resembles the brand’s previous drops. While NOCTA sticks to neutral toned items, seeing blue bits are a good start of sorts. The rest of the pieces are in the brand’s staple black and grey with some tees and hoodies in white really making getting dressed for “the artist’s nocturnal creative process” that much simpler.
Mark your calendars for NOCTA’s “Cardinal Stock” collection in case you’re in the need of an evening wardrobe upgrade. The collection is set to launch at Nike stores and stockists like BSTN and Atmos on May 20.
