Where most collaborations reimagine existing silhouettes, Luke Meier‘s OAMC partnership with adidas can be considered unique courtesy their efforts to produced fresh silhouettes, to be precise, over a half dozen . As part of its FW21 collection, the partnership has already produced another brand-new silhouette dubbed as the Type O-9.
Drawing an inspiration from the adidas’ Microbounce technology from the ’00s era which were made popular by silhouettes like the Microbounce T1 — and the artist Robert Gober, the Type O-9 appears in three different colorways: “Earth,” “Natural White” and “Asphalt.” The three iterations feature premium uppers composed of supple crosta suede and classic polyester mesh. The adhesive combining these two divergent materials is a thick line of double embroidery that runs from heel to toe, while the entire assemblage is bolstered by bulky TPU toe caps and heel clips, the former of which boasts tonal embossed branding. Down below, the midsoles provide full-foot Microbounce cushioning and sleek rubber outsoles supply completes the look with the final touch of classic adidas Running style.
The OAMC x adidas Type O-9 collection will be released via OAMC webstore and adidas’ online outposts on June 10th. The “Earth” and “Natural White” colorways will be available at adidas’ global stockist network, whilst “Asphalt” will be an OAMC exclusive.
