During its debut in December 2020, the Luna Rossa 21 received a lot of mixed opinions. A few sections welcomed high-end brands into the sneaker scene while a few felt that such brands jack up the prices of streetwear items just for their own good. Amongst the audience there were also a few who were unhappy with the $700 price tag – especially for some moon designed shoes as these. Despite the hate around it the shoe ended up selling out giving some clarity about the existence of a market segment interested in the kind. Targeting the interested ones again, adidas and Prada will be launching the Luna Rossa 21 with a sophomore colorway in space grey.
Analogous to the debut pair, the upcoming sneaker will once again arrive in a tonal arrangement in its overall semi-translucent, partly sustainable PRIMEGREEN construction. Technical specs appear more attractive given the penchant for more contrast between grey shades. The speed-lacing systems, breathable and water-resistant paneling, and Continental rubber tooling now appear more appealing in comparison but gets dim in front of the Italian fashion label’s iconic red Luna Rossa logo on the heel.
The pairs will be arriving at select boutiques and adidas sometime during Spring/Summer.
