To celebrate the opening of China’s first sneaker boutique ACU, a Chinese streetwear label Clot, teamed up with Nike back in 2006 to release a special rendition of the Air Max 1 dubbed, “Kiss of Death”. 15 years later, the popular collab is set to return in 2021.
Paying homage to Clot’s Chinese roots reflected by “Chi,” which’s known as a spiritual energy that flows through the human body connecting it with the universe.
the shoe comes dressed in a Net, Deep Red, and Orange Blazer color scheme. This Nike Air Max 1 is expected to look exactly like the original featuring Beige suede paneling, Deep Red snakeskin embossing, and ostrich embellishments. It also features Orange detailing, a transparent toe box, which displays the insoles that shows the pressure points of the foot as a nod to a Chinese medicinal theory atop a translucent outsole displaying an image of the foot completes the design.
Look for the Clot x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” to release during March 2021 at select retailers and Nike.com.
