The sacai x Nike Cortez collection is set to arrive in 2022 as Chitose Abe continues her partnership with the Swoosh.
Nike’s 1972 Cortez, the first track shoe to bear their Swoosh logo, is often credited with launching the company to fame. The shoe was released at the height of the 1972 Summer Olympics. After the public realized that U.S. Olympic athletes were wearing the Nike Cortez, demand for the shoe grew exponentially. In the years that followed, it went from an iconic runner to a popular culture icon, to the streets of LA – and it never once lost its charm. For 2022, sacai will bring their signature double-stacking, with splices sole units, dual overlays, tongues, and more all tipped to feature.
Nike nor sacai have confirmed the design, and likely won’t for some time.
