Salehe Bembury’s collaboration game has been strong with recent names on the list like New Balance and ANTA. Another name that now adds to the former Versace designer’s resume, is Crocs.
Following the Crocs collaboration teaser video on February 11 (which didn’t disclose any details of the actual product), Bembury served us with the first official look at the Salehe x Crocs product. The teaser shows off only a section of the shoe, giving us an idea that the Salehe Bembury x Crocs collaboration may feature a fingerprint-like pattern with lugged grooves. It’s currently unclear whether the part of the collaboration teased is the sole or upper. Bembury’s New Balance 2002R collaboration will also be carrying a similar fingerprint pattern on the heel.
The initial preview is supported by Bembury sharing details about his Crocs collaboration via QnA on his Instagram Stories. We learned that the latest image he posted isn’t an actual colorway, instead, it is a mere sample. Unlike the majority of Crocs’ recent collaborations, the project will seemingly not center around the Classic Clog as we know it, as Salehe has been given the freedom to “open a new mold,” as he puts it. And while a release date has yet to be revealed, the designer did disclose that retailers such as GR8, Sneakersnstuff London, and JUICE will carry the collaboration.
Bembury’s impending Crocs collaboration news comes as the designer recently released his second New Balance 2002R. For Crocs, Bembury bolsters the footwear manufacturers’ ever-growing lineup of collaborators, which includes Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Nicole McLaughlin, Bad Bunny, and many more.
