Shoe Palace and New Balance have collaborated yet again for two new takes on the 997S dubbed the “Great White” collection. “Red Triangle” area of the Northern California coast, where a number of great white shark attacks on human have occurred, has been an inspiration – as both shoes are a tribute to the ocean’s apex predators and also, the Shoe Palace was
originally founded in the Northern California beach.

Shoe Palace’s upgraded 997, brings an image of San Jose Sharks jerseys to mind, as both pairs are based around nautical black and teal color scheme. The heels replicate a shark’s gaping maw with pointy white triangles, while the midfoot’s N logo takes a two-tone graphic with crashing waves running down the middle, portraying frightening good fanged detailing. The upper is quite identical except a few material adjustments. The lighter pair uses white midsole and orange laces while the darker pair sets up black in both spots. A hint of orange peeks through both midsole’s ENCAP Reveal construction while contrasting rubber outsoles round off each look.

The Shoe Palace x New Balance 997S “Great White” collection is set to release via the Shoe Palace website on November 5. The MSRP for each pair has yet to be announced.
