Sneak-HER: India’s First Women-Led Sneaker Event 

The rapid growth of sneaker culture in India and all across the world is no news. Like every other flourishing subculture, sneaker culture has certain issues to overcome; an important one being the disparity of approaches and the void created in the market towards women sneaker enthusiasts. The sneaker and streetwear community needs to equate power positions and give due credit to all the genders for their efforts to strive and make a mark.

In an effort to provide a platform to women sneakerheads, “Sneak-HER” was created and has gone on to host India’s First Women-Led Sneaker Event- All Sole Event, 2022. The name, Sneak-HER, is derived from the amalgamation of the term- sneakers with women at the focus of the same. Sneak-HER was founded by Elina Banerjee, a lawyer and a sneaker enthusiast; who often expresses her opinions in shifting the status quo in the sneaker community. Suhana Sethi who is a partner to the Sneaker-HER platform is a brand strategist and also creates informative sneaker content on Instagram.

The team at Sneak-HER comprises of women sneaker enthusiasts who are creative and bold and have been making ardent efforts in their own ways to highlight the need for a gender neural sneaker community. The team namely Aahana Sharma who is a known sneaker head, content creator and talks about the on-going sneaker trends on her platform, Natasha Thapa who is a model and has major intrigue about sneakers & Raashi Borade who has single handedly taken control of the creative’s at Sneak-HER.

The team at Sneak-HER comprises of women sneaker enthusiasts who are creative and bold and have been making ardent efforts in their own ways to highlight the need for a gender neutral sneaker community.

The All Sole Event, 2022 which is to be held on 22.05.2022, in New Delhi intends to bring spotlight to varied women led brands, sneaker heads, resellers, artists etc. who would showcase their craft at the day of the event and garner the acknowledgement they deserve. Plans for the event include; fun activities; female DJ’s playing tunes that everyone would shimmy to and much more. The event even though showcases women- led brands and artists; however the agenda is to open the event for every individual on the spectrum to witness and experience the same.
