Ballers and Basketball fans already knew the impact of Michael Jordan in the world of basketball before ESPN created “The last dance”, an exclusive documentary featuring the legend. But after that happened, Jordan and his legacy gave his fans and followers a feeling of nostalgia and went way beyond the arena of Basketball.
To continue the legacy of the past and make people a part of it, Stadium Goods has announced an auction for 11 such game worn and player-exclusive sneakers which goes by the name “Original Air”. This online auction will offer some of the rarest footwear moments from the Nike air ship before Jordan signed in with Nike till Jordan 14 in the 1998 NBA finals. The 11 pairs also includes the AJ 7 that Jordan wore in his dream team appearance in the 92’ Olympics in Barcelona.
Even the estimated value of all the three pairs mentioned above is between $406000 to $628000 USD.
The auction is set to start at 23rd of July at Christies.com and the online bidding will run from July 30th to August 13th. Some of the proceedings will also be donated to the NAACP Legal defense fund. An exhibition will also be open to the public.
