The “Metallic Gold/Cloud White” sneaker is derived from the hip hop cultures of both the East and West Coasts. Now adidas Originals’ Top Ten Hi finds itself inspired by the outer space adventures of the nervous, comical robot C-3PO.
The shoe is covered in metallic gold synthetic leather and sports a large C-3PO tag on the tongue. The robot’s head is embossed in black into the rear of the shoe, and is joined by a slogan that wraps around the collar quoting “But sir, nobody worries about upsetting a droid.”
Attention to detail on these is quite amazing; one can find “STAR” and “WARS” lace locks, gold-toned eyelets that look like rivets, a gold-gum outsole, and a branded insole.
The Star Wars x adidas Originals Top Ten Hi “C-3PO” is due to release on adidas’ website on September 17 for $110 USD.
