Street Sense teams up with Disarm Global to create their first capsule collection. 

What we love about streetwear is the fact that it’s not just about clothing but rather a way of life!  Streetwear was never meant to highlight the “superficial ” aesthetics without a purpose behind it. Way before it became global in the 90’s, streetwear was something that had to do with the representation of ideologies, support social causes and doing things which are morally correct.

Even if you look at recent times, streetwear brands have always supported and stood by the community that it caters. Be it the “Black Live matter Movement” or  Environmental issues, Streetwear brands have always come up to fight against what’s wrong.

So, in order to be true to the community that we ourselves are a part of, we at Street Sense have decided to drop our first apparel capsule collection in collaboration with the L.A based “Disarm Global” which is meant to represent a bigger cause!

“Disarm Global” has a history of addressing social causes both through it’s fearless designs and donation that it has offered for a good cause!

Earlier this year the brand had expressed it’s desire to enter the Indian Streetwear Scene and we are very happy that it decided to give us an opportunity while doing so!

This apparel drop will have 2 products both of which are meant to address two different burning issues that have taken a toll very recently. One is Mental Health and the second one is Animal cruelty.

1. A black graphic tee with a text  “overthinking will f*****g kill you” meant to signify the mental stress and pain that one goes through. The illustration in the back depicts the human tendency of overthinking. It depicts a person being hugged and stabbed simultaneously, by a skeleton wearing a smiling face mask . It shows how isolation and overthinking may appear to be appealing in the low points of our life but, in the end of the day it deteriorates our mental health. The red and black portrays how deadly it can be.

2. A white graphic tee with a text “Save humanity care of street sense” on the front and an illustration of the face of an elephant on the back. This motto behind the making of this t-shirt is to stand up against Animal cruelty and the elephant face on the back is to remind us humans of the horrific incident that recently took place in Kerala where a pregnant elephant was brutally murdered. The only way we can stop such injustice against animals is by spreading awareness and raising our voices for our fellow earthlings.

Both the t-shirts are made out of cotton, will be available in all sizes and are true to size. The t-shirts will be extremely exclusive and is limited to just 30 pieces each! And the beat part is that it comes within an affordable range with a price tag of INR 1300 only/-

This collaboration is totally a fundraiser for the causes mentioned above, with a brand having true Indian roots, Disarmed global. We at Street Sense try to provide a platform to brands that voice public opinions through their designs and initiatives .Being a part of the streetwear community firmly believe supporting a social cause and fighting against social evils is something which is the need of the hour!

 Be a part of the change. Stand up for what is right. That is who we are! We are not an industry but a community, we have moral values that we carry and a culture that we represent, which includes our social responsibilities too!
