For Nike Air Force 1‘s 40th anniversary, Stussy is all set to collaborate to help contextualize Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design. The North American sportswear behemoth has secured a spot in what’s assumed to be a historic string of releases as it’s prepped for at least two colorways of the model’s mid-top trim.
Starting off with a white and black pair, the forthcoming sneaker comes in a near-tonal, pitch-dark look over its upper and sole unit. Leather panels on Bruce Kilgore’s 1982-design are drenched in a black hue reminiscent of the New York City streetwear brand’s aesthetic. The midsole and tread combination underfoot revives some of the most classic Air Force 1 colorways from the past, as “AIR” and outsoles provide a stark contrast to the white foam cushioning. The sneaker depicts Stussy logos on the tongue label, lockdown strap velcro-backed strip, and spine in varying tones.
The Stussy x Nike Air Force 1 Mid is expected to launch through SNKRS in the coming months.
