Post the release of the “Tour Yellow” and “String/Black Villain-Red” colorways, sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle will now be making a comeback in a bit toned-down shade. Following simplicity, the yet to arrive “Black/Gum” colorway of the Vaporwaffle will remain solely black with a touch of contrast.
The conceptual sneaker is cooked from the ingredients of the Nike Vaporfly and the Pegasus from 1983 and features a nylon base. More details such as the identical midfoot swooshes, suede and leather overlays, double tongues and the intertwined laces make the collaborative pair even more special. Branding arrives in the form of contrasting tongue tags, “NIKE/sacai” printed heel tabs, mini swoosh marked heel loops and printed insoles. The shoe is taller than usual and the midsole unit is marked with an aggressive lip at the heel concluded with a classic gum rubber waffle outsole.
The pair is expected to release sometime this spring for a retail price of $180 USD.
