Adidas has decided to resurrect one of its most celebrated collaborations of the 2000s and 2010s, announcing the revival of Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals. The rumors around this news stopped circulating when adidas took to Instagram stating, “It’s official: Jeremy’s back.”
Initially Scott teamed up with adidas in 2003, for a long period until 2015. During his working years, he contributed his signature playful and vibrant aesthetics to adidas , owning up for some of the most iconic sneakers of the 2000s and beyond. With a cult-like following that involved numerous celebrities such as A$AP Rocky — who has shouted out the designer in numerous songs — Scott’s footwear designs, in particular, quickly reached grail status. Those old enough to remember no doubt have vivid images of his shoes adorned with stuffed animals — à la the JS Bear, JS Poodle, and JS Gorilla — in addition to the JS Bones and his most iconic of all, the JS Wings.
“Partnering again with adidas feels like a homecoming and I’m thrilled to be home, ”says Jeremy, following to his statement , he announced on Instagram, “YA BOY IS BACK ! THE RUMORS ARE TRUE ! IVE REIGNITED MY PARTNERSHIP WITH @adidasoriginals AND WILL BE RELEASING NEW DESIGNS TO GET YOUR HEART RACING AND YOUR FEET DANCING ONCE AGAIN !”
Being the creative collaborator, Jeremy Scott will be continuing the series of projects in the further coming seasons, giving adidas footwear, apparel, and accessories a makeover like only he can. The first series of new products are expected to arrive in Fall 2021.
