Every year, June serves as a celebration, and has hence earned the name “Pride Month”. Nike has honoured the LGBTQIA+ community, and does so with the “BeTrue” sneaker collection. Originally believed to only be a three-piece capsule, with the Air Max 2090, the Air Force 1, and the ACG Deschutz, but now, the Swoosh is adding the Pegasus 37 sneaker to this assortment too. And since the 2019 collection featured the VaporFly NEXT%, it makes sense that Nike would include this running silhouette too. Slight tweaks are made to the upper, to make the pair look more Pride-inspired. The swooshes have been enlarged, and they run the entire length of the shoe, from the forefoot to the ankle, and they take on a cool gradient, which moves from red to purple to blue, finally transitioning to green near the rear of the shoe. The “BeTrue” embellishments are also stamped onto the heels, and tongues. The Nike Air rainbow branding is above the medial midsoles, which echos the theme. The pair will drop on Nike’s website in the coming weeks.
