Sacai are reportedly releasing their upcoming Autumn & Winter 2021 collection this summer and it includes a collection in collaboration with contemporary artist KAWS. Sacai founder Chitose Abe and KAWS have rendered their mutual admiration for the other’s work and love of all things graphic and colorful for the clothing capsule collection which appears to include a joint Nike Blazer Low design and some co-branded casualwear options including a logo tee and hoodie.
The clothing merges flowing, over-sized sacai silhouettes in simple shapes with KAWS bright, graphic artwork to great effect, creating gripping and strikingly distinct designs. Perfecting the clothing collection are two Nike Blazer lows styles, one in a red / orange / yellow / blue and another in a teal / orange / yellow. Like the previous Nike x sacai styles, the design plays with traditional forms and proportions with wavy-looking panels either side of the laces and an outsized sole.
The cross eyes of KAWS’ signature companion can be spied on the shoe’s branded tongues, suggesting further graphic touches could be revealed in the future.
The Sacai x KAWS collection is set to launch in July of this year.
