The Air Force 1 has never shied away from the limelight, and one might argue that the silhouette is enjoying it this year as its 40th-anniversary festivities are brought up daily. Four decades is a long time to be the focus of attention, but Air Force 1 has never shied away from it. The majority of that results from the regular stream of joyful releases, but there are still plenty of on-trend hues keeping the momentum going, like this new Air Force 1 “Team Red,” which takes cues from vintage Air Jordan color blocking.

Bruce Kilgore’s renowned 1982 design first appeared on children in a “Team Red”-dominated outfit recently. The eye-catching color is set off by a light grey foundation that covers the smooth leather base, the inside lining, and the midsole.

The pair, which is seen here for the first time in children’s sizes (although an adult variant is anticipated as well), features a typical “Chicago”-style design with white leather uppers that are smooth, black Swooshes at the midfoot, and a plethora of red leather overlays. The latter, however, has leather tongues that are dyed a vivid shade of blood red. The pair is finished off by a straightforward white and black sole unit underneath, with black laces and tongue tags resting above and Team Red enamel dubraes resting below.
