This year marks the 35th birthday of the iconic New Balance 1300, celebrating the occasion the silhouette will be taking a trip to Japan for its makeover. Crafted top to bottom in Japan by the legendary craftsman Hitoshi Mimura assisted by his team. Dressed in premium leather in a monochrome shade, the price point is justified with the rich quality in material.
Swapping the usual mix of mesh and suede on the uppers for a luxurious full veg tan leather construction on the M1300 is undoubtedly the best birthday gift. Endowed by Tochigi Leather, purveyors of Japan’s finest leather, the natural shade provides the worn out look bound to get better with age and time. From the branding point of view, the midfoot N logo arrives in leather while the fabric tongue tags and heel embroidery opt for the white shade. Concluding the shoe are ENCAP midsoles combining PU and EVA foam and a black Vibram rubber outsole.
This is the second M1300 to ever be made in Japan – the former was released in June to celebrate the opening of the New Balance’s Tokyo Concept Shop.
The pair will be arriving on the New Balance Japan webstore coming 19th of December with a price of approximately $673 USD.
