Shifting a bit from stereotype collaborations, the Nike SB Dunk Low is now seeing some specially themed iterations. The hyped silhouette has borrowed colors from retro swoosh models such as ACG Caldera and the Club 58 collective skate group and for its upcoming iteration it will be taking inspiration from the VX1000 Camcorder.
The camcorder has stayed in the industry as much as any other skating item. After its debut in 1985, the camcorder was the perfect camera for documenting skating videos due to its wide-angled fish eyed lens and durability. The sneaker seamlessly portrays exciting text such as “SHUTTER SPEED”,”WHT BAL”, “REC LEVEL” and “PEAK” on the rear panel in accordance with the camcorder functions. The eyelets also receive photogenic touches in red and yellow symbolic of the pause and stop buttons.
The uppers are comprised of tumbled leather with the forefoot and midfoot regions joining in white overlays and Swooshes while the toe box and quarters opt for charcoal black. Apart from the charcoal, a faded black’s presence is also spotted on the tongues, laces and the rear overlays with a hint of teal on the heel embroidery. Inserts play along the video by displaying “0:00:01” signifying that recording has begun.
The pair will drop on Nike SB’s Orange Label skate shops come 20th of February in Europe and Asia exclusively.
