Running gear is a closet staple and with the pandemic on loose, there is always a search party for short shorts and lightweight trainers for summer. Nike being the top in the running game finds itself at the forefront of all things active. To rescue us from the adversary is a new GYAKUSOU release with Jun Takahashi and UNDERCOVER, the one which highlights the latest iteration of Nike’s record-breaking runner, the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT%.
UNDERCOVER showed a glimpse of the upcoming colorway of the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 this week via Instagram. The preview gives us the idea of the look, which is that the lightweight racer is indulged in a red look, with black, white, and grey accents. Branding jobs are fulfilled by a black Swoosh on the side, and white GYAKUSOU which points out the collaboration over top the Swoosh and at the toe, where “Gyakusou International Running Association” resides. These are the conclusions drawn from the preview for now, but keep looking forward to the sneaker “coming soon,” according to the Instagram caption.
After Eliud Kipchoge famously wore a pair of the Nike Vaporfly NEXT% during the time he broke the two-hour marathon barrier in 2019. Following the event , the shoe was on spot of being banned by World Athletics because it potentially gave runners too much of an advantage. Now with new rules implemented since in regards to footwear, the Swoosh’s Vaporfly NEXT% is made safe for runners to use legally in official competition.
The successor to the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT%, the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 iteration is an obvious selection for the latest UNDERCOVER x Nike GYAKUSOU collaboration.
