Union x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Is Covered in Tapestry-Style Illustrations
Chris Gibbs‘ Union and Converse have fore dan alliance for a brand new Chuck Taylor All Star Hi. After June’s skating performance Breakstar Ox capsule, the alliance has covered the high-top Chuck Taylor All Star in cultural tapestry-designed graphics for a bold look.
Built of a cream-colored material , the uppers showcase graphics that range from two people having a picnic while a rooster is placed nearby to horses running across an open plain and more. Of special note is a graphic of a man and woman chilling in front of an arch and dancing to music coming from a boombox — a piece of technology that came about well after this hand-drawn art style was introduced.
A signature Converse All-Star badge is present on its usual space on the medial collar, done up in white leather and featuring debossed details. Union’s signature gold tag is stitched into the eyestay seam on the lateral midfoot as well. White rubber toe caps and midsoles complement with vibrant yellow outsoles to sum up the look.
The Union x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Hi is set to launch on September 24 at retailers like Afew, though this has yet to be officially confirmed by Converse. The MSRP is the regular at $100 USD.
