Soon after teaming up with Taka Hayashi for a Vault collection, supplied with military themes, the skate wear brand, which everybody knows and loves, Vans is continuing their Spring collaboration catalogue, by working with the famous television network, National Geographic. A pretty unexpected partnership to say the least, this capsule is a blend of the Anaheim-based brand’s signature silhouettes, merged with that of unique nature, and animal – inspired graphical elements. The Slip-On and Authentic pairs utilise the interesting wallpapers of Greenland’s ice glaciers, as well as ocean waters filled with many fish. The Old Skools adhere to the aforementioned animal motif as its sides are split between literal imagery of Mexican Grey Wolves and the Red Eyed Tree Frogs. The Eras take on a collage of National Geographic magazine covers, while the Sk8-His take a more classic approach to this design, and simply feature the NG branding across it’s heels. The pair will drop on Vans.com and a few retailers on the 1st of June, with retail prices from $75-95.
