Virgil Abloh and Japanese designer Nigo announced their partnership back in December and it took whole internet by storm. The collection comes with bevy of denim with cues lifted from NIGO’s legacy and updated for today’s LV man.
LV² was proposed as collection name due to the dual design approach by the creatives. LV has worked in the past with Japanese brands and the new collection is inspired by NIGO’s codes Denim hats , chore coats , pants with rich patchwork inspired stitching.
The lineup designs range from blazers with stylized LV² logo laden pockets to square patterned suits. The looks from collection are trim , refined and sophisticated accented by fringed scarves, chunky sunglasses, skinny Damier ties and Louis Vuitton-branded caps. Lastly , chunky leather shoes and backpacks complete the whole range. Some designs feature a layered drip effect inspired by logo NIGO envisioned for ICECREAM.
The NIGO and Abloh’s collaborative LV² range to launch this summer, in line with Pre-Fall 2020 timing. Virgil even exclaimed that further collabs with NIGO might come in near future too.
